Twilight and the MTV Movie Awards

I have to preface this post with the fact that I absolutely LOVE the Twilight movies. I think I love them first because they bring some of my favorite books to life, and second because they are good movies. I think they have done a pretty good job bringing the books to life.  I am probably going to gain a great deal of hate for this post, but alas, I have to share my thoughts!

However, I do not think that they have been for the past three years the BEST in the field.  Last night I watched the MTV Movie Awards. I watched them in hopes of seeing the new Breaking Dawn trailer, which I hoped would be at the beginning,. (No it was in the last 15 minutes).  I was rewarded for watching it with glimpses of lots of different movies. Deathly Hallows Part 2 for one - (LOVE that and can't wait for the movie). However I was disappointed by a few of the awards. I wonder if the MTV Movie award nominees are just counting down to the time when there won't be any Twilight Movies in the running, so that the fan votes will actually choose the best in the category.

I loved the fight scene in Eclipse. I think they did an awesome job. Stephanie wrote a great scene and it translated well onto screen. But the fight scene in Deathly Hallow Part 1, I felt was FAR superior.

I think Eclipse was an excellent movie, but the BEST Movie of the year, I would have chosen Inception. That movie as incredible and well done and intriguing.

Robert Pattinson did a great job in Eclipse. But Daniel Radcliffe did an even better performance in Deathly Hallows.

The kiss issue...I think the nominated Kiss with Taylor was better...Just my opinion...And yes I am Team Edward, but as far as cinematics, the kiss between Jacob and Kristen was better then Rob and Kristen's kiss...just my opinion though.

Again, Kristen Stewart was awesome in Eclipse. But the best among that list of actresses, maybe not.

I think that the Twilight Fandom has this idea that the Twilight movies are the best to ever hit the airwaves. While they are excellent movies and I do think that they have done a great job, I do not think they are the best ever. I think the thing that makes them wonderful and awesome and amazing if the way they are bringing our favorite books to life. It isn't so much that the movies are the best of the year, but more that the books were great and hey a movie to tie it to, all the better!  I often wonder how much the voting is skewed by the twilight fandom voting a bazillion times for the Twilight people in each of the categories.

I felt so bad for Emma Watson last night. Was she the only one there, because she was the only one willing to face the cameras when Twilight won everything. It is sad. I think if Deathly Hallows had come out when a Twilight Movie was not out, then they would have won nearly every category last night, instead of just the Best Villian. They were served an injustice last night. That movie was amazing, and I can't wait for part 2 next month. It will be an amazing ending to the franchise. They deserved far more than they got last night.

With all that said...I have to say that I am so stinking excited for Breaking Dawn. Have you seen the Trailer? It is going to be good!  Possibly the best of the Twilight Movies. I think Breaking Dawn was the best book of the series. I love the movies and I think they have done an awesome job. The actors and actresses are great in them. I look forward to the last two movies. But I am sorry to all the Twilight Fandom, I cannot go along with you and say that they were the Best in any of the categories last night...

And now here's to what I am guessing will be some fan rants from my readers (which are possibly few)  Love you all...Don't hate me just because I am honest about my feelings...

I definitely agree with you. I didn't watch the awards but I really don't think the Twilight movies are all that great. As you said, the books were awesome and so the movies are good but not as good as other movies that have come out.
