Timothy's Story

When I woke up yesterday morning it was another ordinary day. As the day ended it was anything but ordinary. But let's start from the beginning.

Justin's mom was scheduled to arrive at 5:00pm. Iyar been able to keep the house pretty well picked up his week with the help of the kids. But there were a few last minute things that needed to be done. I knew my limits being 8 1/2 months pregnant so I went ahead and started early. I started washing sheets for collin's bed first thing. Maureen is staying in his room and Collin is sleeping in the girls room for the next two week.  I then got Collins bed situated (crib mattresses are wonderful when they aren't needed in the crib. ) after I got the girls off to school I managed getting the dishes done then sat down and took a break. Collin and I watched some Phineas and Ferb and at 11:30 we started lunch.

I dropped Collin off for school at about 12:20 and came home and vacuumed all the floors and got some lasagna put together for dinner. And at 2:30 I left to go get Collin from school.

The contractions started about 2:45. At 3:45 I was glad Justin was on his way home from work because I wasn't sure I would actually be able to drive to the airport to pick his mom up with all the contractions. We all rode together to the airport and got back home about 6.

At 6:45 we were checking in to labor and delivery. At 8:30 I was being wheeled up to the OR for my repeat C-Secrion and at 8:55pm I got the first glimpse of my beautiful newborn little boy.

Timothy Paul Clayton joined our family as the smallest of the four kids. He weighed in at 6 lb 4 oz and was 18 1/4 inches. He scored an 8 and 9 on his Apgars and has been a delight all night long.  I am happy to report that both he and I are doing well aside from a little soreness from surgery. He is taking to nursing well so far and just had his first bath.

I woke up and had the thought that August 24 would be a good day to have a baby. But I didn't actually think it was going to happen.
